Sustainable natural latex and rubberised coir manufacturers since 1985

From the beginning, it was our intention to organically grow renewable raw materials and to convert the existing coconut and rubber plantations in Sri Lanka and India to an ecological environment friendly cultivation.

Since our establishment in 1985, we have continually invested in ecological and certified organic projects and cooperated with renowned companies, public institutes and institutions.

 

1986 - 1991

CISIR (Sri Lanka) product certification for natural products.

1992 - 1993

Rubber Consultants (UK) product certification for natural products.

1992

Establishment of EOPPSL to promote certified organic plantations in Sri Lanka and to educate and support small farmers. The former Director of Rubber Research Institute of Sri Lanka was appointed to coordinate the project.

1994

Initial contact with SKAL Netherlands to organize the plantations for organic certification. Former IFOAM Federation umbrella organisation as the advisor for the EOPPSL committee.

1995 - 1997

Conversion of selected plantations to ecological and certified organic cultivation.

1997

Inspection of rubber and coconut plantations by SKAL Netherlands.

1999

First SKAL Certificate – for certified organic cultivation and raw materials.

2000

Awarded by “Bund Naturschutz Bavaria” (Organisation of Nature Preservation in Bavaria, Germany).

2004

Sustainable natural latex foam & rubberized coir, for mattress production, certified by SKAL Netherlands.

2005

IFOAM sponsorship (International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements).

2007

Conversion of selected latex plantations to ecological and certified organic cultivation in India.

2008

Production of FSC certified natural latex foam.

2009

Formation of Kerala Organic Rubber Farmers Association, ( K.O.R.F.A) in India.

2010

Assisting the Fair Trade Foundation (UK) for compiling standards for Rubber/Latex.

2011

Preparation of coconut plantations for FSC and GOTS certification.

2012

Installation of a solar system in Mainbernheim to supply the production with 100% solar energy.
